Psychology of Music

Music, Mice and Madness
A student named David Merrill devised an experiment to discover how music would affect the ability of mice to learn new things. Merrill had one group of mice listen to classical music 24 hours a day and another to heavy metal music. He then timed the mice as they ran through mazes to see if the music affected their speed of learning. Unfortunately, he had to cut the first experiment short because the heavy metal mice all killed one another. In a second experiment, mice that listened to Mozart for 10 hours a day dramatically improved their maze-solving abilities, while the heavy metal mice actually became worse at solving mazes than they had been at the beginning of the experiment.

Music, Intelligence and Learning
According to the Association for Psychological Science, intelligence test scores grew higher in children who took lessons in keyboarding or singing. In another study, boys between the ages of 6 and 15 who took music lessons scored higher on tests of verbal memory than a control group of students without musical training.

Music and Pain Reduction
Researchers found that patients who listened to harp, piano, synthesizer, orchestra or slow jazz experienced less post-surgical pain than those who did not.

Music and Suicide
On a stranger note, sociology professor James Gundlach found higher rates of suicide among those who listen to country music. However, Gundlach notes that the suicide link occurred only with older country music, which he believes is not as upbeat as today’s.

Music and Plant Health
Experiments conducted by Dorothy Retallack to learn about music's effects on plants are described in her 1973 book The Sound of Music and Plants. Retallack played rock music (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Vanilla Fudge) for one group of plants and jazz for another. When two weeks had passed, the jazz plants were healthy and bent toward the radio. The rock music plants grew very tall and droopy, with faded blooms, and most had died within 16 days.

about TUCK and Patti

"The balance of the personal and the universal is always in music, just like the balance between human and divine love," (Tuck Andress)

"It doesn't hurt to have Patti singing, either," Tuck adds. "It's fun to mute the guitar on playback and realize that she doesn't really need any accompaniment anyway, she's already swinging like a whole big band."

Tuck provided a sparkling accompaniment, explains Patti, "like little prayers, little galaxies. It's beautiful music, beautiful guitar. One of Tuck's great strengths is that he sees all the harmonic options. It's magic to me that, out of all the possibilities, he chose the perfect ones."

Tuck adds, "People are always asking, how does your relationship, your marriage, play into your music? With songs like these you can't help but reflect on the personal, even though these are universal songs. You are performing the song, you are lost in the music, and the song has its own life. But still, we've had this extremely intense relationship with each other for over half our lives. So we can't help but put ourselves in there. How can it be possible for a casual word or glance from your partner still to take your breath away after all that time? In exactly 140 words this song completely describes the miraculous daily fabric of our personal relationship, something I've been trying to grasp and articulate to myself for decades. It is amazing what a song can do."

"There a reason why these songs are called standards," says Patti. "They are gorgeous tunes, with perfect lyrics, and they speak unabashedly about love. They'll never stop being relevant.

IvanKa Trump vs Paris HilTon

totally ivanka!!
not until i saw oprah today, i knew ivanka trump
totally rocks, i think

well, trump and hilton
both are blond, sexy, and rich, what any men or even women could wish for
but what i put my 4 thumbs up is because
ivanka says their parents taught her that she is only lucky for using their's properties
if she wants those things, she has to fight herself. she said she bought her house from her dad
she's got a look and she's also got her brain. oprah said she was 15 when she was once invited to oprah (she's now 25) but since that moment, oprah could say that she went to one of the best school and she was very smart.
ivanka said that she works 13hours a day to make a living. wow

meanwhile, hilton, i guess i don't have to say anything more about her
you all have already known the reason behind her fame (or you may never realise it till now)

well hey then again..
blond is not always stupid!
when someone got a look, it doesn't always mean that she doesn't got a brain to think
ya ya yayyy!!

one said that since i've been given 2 ears and 1 mouth,
i should listen twice as much as i spoke
well i still learn to guard and control everything i say

sometimes, there are things that should not be spoken anyway
i learned to be more quiet, anyway hehe

well hey
do you not know that the Lord says that you will be judge for every word you speak

so people
mind your talk
